Antelope Mine began operations in 1985 with a permitted mining capacity of 42 million tons per year. Current mining involves dual seams with a coal seam thickness of 32 feet to 36 feet. Mining is carried out primarily by dragline operations, with truck & shovel operations utilized to remove coal.
